How to Update Cycle

 

New versions of Cycle are released regularly and can include new features, bug fixes, performance, design, and security improvements.

Updating Cycle is similar to installing it for the first time, and as long as you have saved your work you will be able to resume right where you left off. Updating Cycle will not overwrite or modify your Feature file contents.

Step 1: Download the Newest Release of Cycle

The newest version of Cycle can be found on the Cycle User Portal.

You can also download past releases of Cycle under the Products->Cycle tab

Note: Only Internal users have access to beta releases

Step 2: Run the Installer

Prior to running the Cycle installer, you must close Cycle or you will receive errors.  It is also recommended that you close all other applications.

Run the new installer which will appear similar to install-cycle-2-X-X.exe

By default the installer will choose the file location Cycle has already been installed in, keeping this file location will allow the installer to change or add needed application files.

Once the location is chosen,  you can click the Install button to update Cycle.

After the installer has finished running, you can relaunch Cycle and you will now be running the newest version of Cycle.

To verify that the update was successful you can check the Help tab in Cycle, which will state the version number and release date.
